Bringing an end to months of rampant speculation and leaks, later this evening – 12:00pm Pacific/3:00pm Eastern, to be specific – New York City’s PlayStation Theater will play host to Sony’s latest PlayStation Meeting, an event designed to outline the future of the PS brand. Read between the lines and you’ll know that the Japanese giant is on the verge of announcing both the PS4 Neo and, finally, the entry-level PS4 Slim, but it appears shiny new hardware won’t be the only attraction.

Case in point: Mass Effect: Andromeda developer BioWare has been dropping hints that the spacefaring sequel will be in attendance at the imminent presentation.

It’s by no means a concrete announcement, but Alistair McNally – head of design and art at BioWare’s Edmonton, Montreal, and Austin studios – has been stoking excitement nonetheless.

“Really, REALLY excited for the Sony PlayStation press conference tomorrow. Some surprises are in store I expect,” he said, adding, “Also it’s probably about time I changed my twitter avatar image and background.”

There’s also this ambiguous Tweet from Michael Gamble, producer on Mass Effect: Andromeda:

Should these early signs hold true, Mass Effect: Andromeda may not be the only piece of software to light up the stage later today, with reports claiming that Rockstar Games is on the verge of announcing a HD remaster of Red Dead Redemption. There’s even chatter of a bona fide sequel in the works, but we remain cautious.

Sony’s PlayStation Meeting is due to kick off at 12:00pm Pacific/3:00pm Eastern time. You can tune in via the live.playstation.com site, and yes, we’ll be bringing you all the announcements right here as they drop.
