You may be wondering why updates regarding 2K Games’ Mafia 3 are so slow in coming, but in truth, you could have been missing a few gems of information of late. An official twitter account for the Mafia series has been released concept art images on a fairly regular basis since early December, and there really are some gorgeous shots in there.
Most of the images are focusing on the world of Mafia 3, giving us a good look at the type of playground we’ll get our hands on when the game arrives later this year. They detail the varied environments of the sandbox title, from the bayou to the New Orleans city streets, among other places.
Mafia 3 will put players in control of Lincoln Clay, a mixed-race man who fought in the Vietnam War before finding his way to New Orleans. The game will apparently deal with subject matter concerning racism in the South during 1968, which is when its events will be set.
As it stands there is no confirmed release date for Mafia 3, but we’ll bring you more information as it comes to us.
