With their latest Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! video advertisement, Gearbox Software and 2K Australia have once again gone behind the curtains of their effortful development process. The result is the second part in a series dubbed, “The Making of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!” – an insightful instalment which focuses on the thought processes behind the game, such as why the development teams chose to take a trip to the moon for the series’ third iteration.
By watching this five-and-a-half minute-long beast, you’ll gain insight into the ideas behind mechanics like the soon-to-become famous butt slam and the game’s new cryogenic weapon type. There’s also talk about the moon itself, which looked fine when it appeared in Borderlands, but showed a lot of wear and volcanic cracking in Borderlands 2. It and its lack of gravity, which adds to the experience.
Stay tuned for the third part in this series, which will focus on the characters themselves. We’ll bring it to you once it becomes available, but who knows when that’ll be. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! won’t hit stores until October 14th, so it’ll be sometime between now and then for sure.
