Dark Horse Comics may have inadvertently outed the release date for next year’s Mass Effect: Andromeda ahead of an official announcement by EA or BioWare.
The book publisher, which is well known for releasing video game and manga-related merchandise, has announced The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda, a companion book that will launch on March 21, 2017 in the US and March 23 in the UK.
Alone, that date wouldn’t raise any eyebrows, but the product page over on Amazon explicitly states that “Dark Horse will release The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda simultaneously with the game!”
Well then. As most major triple-A games launch on a Tuesday in North America and Friday in the UK, the aforementioned dates would line up perfectly, so they could very well be the real deal. Of course, nobody other than EA or BioWare can say for certain if the late March window is correct, but it fits with previous projections.
We’ve still yet to see any in-depth gameplay for Mass Effect: Andromeda, with the sci-fi sequel being noticeably absent from this year’s E3. However, we did get a very, very small glimpse of what’s in store for fans during Sony’s PS4 Pro reveal, with BioWare showcasing what the title will look like running in 4K resolution. You can see said footage above.
