Aside from Gamescom and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at the beginning of September – 61 days, but who’s counting? – the video game industry is primed to recede into its annual summer lull now that Batman: Arkham Knight has been released. What better time to catch up on your ever-growing pile of shame, then?

That’s exactly the question Microsoft will be asking for the next couple of months with the self-proclaimed Xbox Ultimate Game Sale, which offers discounts on an array of heavy-hitters from the past two years or so, including Far Cry 4, Mortal Kombat X and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Taking to Twitter, here’s a teaser video for the promotion courtesy of Microsoft’s own Major Nelson.

It’s unclear exactly how long this promotion will run for. Over on Nelson’s blog, the window has been slated to remain open “all summer,” and we’re hoping that means Xbox owners can take full advantage of the price cuts – not to mention an extra 10% for Gold members – up until the tail-end of August.

Microsoft has rounded up those titles on offer – with some reduced by up to 40% or 50% – and published them for you here. Tell us, which Xbox game will you be adding to your collection?
