It is, without question, the biggest event on the industry calendar and soon, E3 2016 will descend on the Los Angeles Convention Center bringing with it scores of announcements, trailers, teases and possible hardware upgrades – not from Sony, mind you.

In anticipation of the trade show bonanza, Xbox Marketing Chief Mike Nichols noted that Microsoft is expecting the four-day event to “be a special E3,” but stopped short of divulging any details on what the Redmond-based platform holder has in store.

Word comes by way of GameSpot, relaying a statement from Microsoft regarding its NPD results for May 2016. Here’s what Nichols had to share about the imminent showcase: “We are just days away from E3 2016 and we’re excited to share more details on what Xbox fans can expect this year and beyond. We expect this to be a special E3.”

Set to run for around 90 minutes, Microsoft‘s E3 2016 showcase has been penciled in for Monday, June 13 at 9:30am PST. As always, we’ll have full coverage of the event as it happens right here for you on We Got This Covered.
