New Character, Mode And Costumes Headed To Street Fighter V On September 22

A rather substantial content update is inbound to Street Fighter V later this week, Capcom has confirmed via a recent blog post. Set to launch on September 22, the patch will finally implement the last remaining member - Urien - of the beat 'em up's first season of DLC characters. The suave and sadistic Illuminati member may be the headliner of this particular show, but there's several supporting acts being introduced with him that deserve your attention.

A rather substantial content update is inbound to Street Fighter V later this week, Capcom has confirmed via a recent blog post. Set to launch on September 22, the patch will finally implement the last remaining member – Urien – of the beat ’em up’s first season of DLC characters. The suave and sadistic Illuminati member may be the headliner of this particular show, but there’s several supporting acts being introduced with him that deserve your attention.

Daily Targets, which reward bonus Fight Money upon completion, will be added to help players more easily accumulate currency for the content that most interests them, asking you to complete various tasks like completing a ranked match or spending “a little time” in training mode. Rewards range from 100 to 5000 Fight Money.

Versus CPU mode, a feature that was sorely lacking from the original release, will be included too, finally enabling you to hone your skills against AI-controlled opponents of varying difficulty. Additionally, various costume bundles that collect together past releases will be put up for sale for 85,000 Fight Money a pop or $4.99 of real money.

Rounding out the update will be new environmental KO’s for various stages which are far more elaborate than punching players through doors and dropping noodles on their noggins. The following stages have received new match-ending finishers.

  • Shadaloo Base
  • Hillside Plaza
  • Underground Arena
  • Forgotten Waterfall
  • Union Station
  • Kanzuki Estate
  • City in Chaos
  • Apprentice Alley
  • Lair of the Four Kings

Capcom hasn’t made any mention thus far of a potential second season of DLC characters, but you can probably expect to hear more on the future of Street Fighter V at this year’s Capcom Cup Finals.
