New Comparison Video For BioShock: The Collection Showcases Visual Improvements

Ahead of its release next month, 2K has released a new comparison video for BioShock: The Collection that highlights the visual improvements being made to each entry in the series. The trailer, which you can watch above, flicks between the original and remastered versions of the first game's opening sequence, revealing improved lighting, crisper textures and even the inclusion of new props to bolster authenticity. The initial descent into Rapture, for example, now features hundreds of glowing jellyfish surrounding the submerged city.

In addition to the visual upgrade, a new set of ‘Golden Reels’ can be found throughout Rapture that unlock “never-before-seen” Director Commentaries featuring series creative director Ken Levine, so says the video blurb.

BioShock: The Collection releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 16. The PC version of the compendium won’t include a remastered version of BioShock Infinite, as 2K feels that the existing version already meets current-gen standards.
