Sony has revealed that The Order: 1886, the upcoming PlayStation 4 shooter from Ready At Dawn, has been delayed until early 2015. The alternate history based title had originally been scheduled to launch in the fall of 2014.

Set in London, The Order: 1886 centers around Sir Galahad and three other knights who have adopted monikers based around King Arthur and the Knights Of The Round Table. With alternate-history London under the attack from half-breed monsters, Sir Galahad and the others must rely on a mysterious substance known as “Black Water” to help quell and push back these creatures.

The visually impressive title will mark the first time that developer Ready At Dawn are producing their own original IP. Previously, they released ports such as Okami for the Nintendo Wii and the God Of War Collection for the PlayStation 3, as well as offshoots of popular franchises such as Daxter and God Of War: Chains Of Olympus for the PlayStation Portable.

While Sony and Ready At Dawn are not ready to talk about why The Order: 1886 has been delayed, it is interesting to note that the title was just shown off publicly again last week. While it’s unfortunate that we won’t get to get our hands on the title until next year, it appears that it is not suffering from the same sort of problems that befell fellow PlayStation 4 title Driveclub.

With E3 right around the corner, we hope to hear more about The Order: 1886 in the coming weeks.
