Making good on yesterday’s promise of upcoming “exciting news“, Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus will launch for the PS Vita on November 19th with the 2.0 firmware update.
Sony originally revealed that PlayStation Plus would expand to the Vita at Gamescom last August, now that a specific launch date has been announced the company has detailed exactly what subscribers will be getting on their handheld. The biggest news is that the Vita will receive its own Instant Game Collection when the PlayStation Store updates on November 20th, with the following six titles becoming free to download for Plus members; Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Jet Set Radio,Wipeout 2048, Gravity Rush, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack! and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions.
PlayStation Plus members will also receive the following features with their subscription; online game storage bumped up to 2GB (1GB each for the PS3 and Vita), discounts on digital games and DLC, early access to betas, and the option for automatic game and system updates.
A PlayStation Plus subscription runs $17.99 for three months, or $49.99 for a full year, which gives you access to all the Plus features on both the PS3 and Vita. Check out the Vita system software update v2.00 video below for the full details.
