According to a press release by Dying Light developer Techland, the game’s season pass is set to receive a price hike due to the increase in scope of upcoming expansion The Following.
As part of the statement, Techland said:
Over the past weeks Dying Light: The Following has almost reached its final stage: main quests, side quests, new skills, and driving challenges are ready. We now are moving into the polishing period. Looking at it, it’s clear how big the expansion pack has grown – it could be a stand-alone title, but since it would mean a launch delay, we decided against it.
After the changes, The Following expansion will be priced at $19.99, with the season pass coming in at a hefty $29.99. However, if you purchase (or already own), the season pass prior to December 8, Techland says you won’t have to pay anything extra.
Dying Light: The Following is expected to be released in early 2016.
