Slightly Mad Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced an enticing prize pool for the latest Project CARS challenges. A total prize pool of €20,000 will be up for grabs for the winning teams competing in the Logitech G Championship Series and NVIDIA Challenger Series.

The developers have confirmed that there are almost 200 teams already signed up for the 2016 season, and they each stand a chance of taking home €5000 within the division of the series they’re participating in. The registration is still open for the events, and Project CARS Brand Manager Arnaud Staebler spoke with pride about the progress of the events:

Project CARS E-sports has gotten off to a good start with the inaugural 2015 season with top teams, the fastest drivers in the world playing in our ESL Weekly Cups, and spectacular live events held in Madrid, Cologne, Birmingham, and Paris.

He went on to explain how the developers of the game’s E-sports looked to build upon this, and how the hopes for surpassing last year’s success are taking shape:

This year there have been a number of pre-season changes and improvements to ensure Project CARS continues to dominate as a first-class E-sports racing game. A significant prize fund for the winning teams in each series rewards them for the intense level of commitment and dedication they have for our E-sports initiative.

With enticing prizes being added to the usual goodies and trophies, the E-sports initiative for Project CARS is truly gathering steam. You can also expect to see more from this with the Game Of The Year Edition launching on May 6th.
