Bethesda Softworks and id Software have partnered together to release the final two installments of their six-part RAGE developer diary video series. It’s been a very informative, interesting and especially visceral ride thus far, and that continues to the end. If you plan to watch them, make sure you try to contain the drool.
The first video you’ll see is referred to as The Enemies. During it’s several minute long runtime, those of us who can’t wait to get our hands on RAGE are treated to an in-depth look at the enemy types found within its ones and zeroes. These include your everyday wasteland ravagers, a ghost clan and a strange sect of soldiers whose intentions are learned as you progress.
The team talks about the need they felt to always keep things fresh by including new enemies, to avoid repetition or boredom from facing the same grunt or mercenary over and over again. From this video, it certainly looks like they’ve achieved that.
Sorry, the video is currently unavailable.
The last entry in this cool visual diary series is titled, The Sound and Art. As its name suggests, it delves into the work that went into creating an interesting world, which has been ravaged and destroyed. One that players will enjoy driving and shooting their way through, finding danger at almost every turn. Though, that’s not all they discuss, as there’s also some talk about the voice cast and a look behind-the-scenes at popular actor, John Goodman, recording his lines. If you’re interested in finding out why he was cast, this is a good place to look and listen.

In reading my posts about this game, I’m sure you’ve received more than a hint about my interest in RAGE. If I had to make a shortlist of games I can’t wait to play, it would be right near the top.
These developer diaries have done a great job of informing all of us about the game, its included content and all of the hard work that went into crafting those features. Most of all though, it’s certainly done a good job of achieving its main goal: making us drool even more, while we count down the days until early October.
Let us know what you think via the comments section. Though, I’m sure you’re just as excited.
RAGE will be available on October 4, 2011 for the XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
