Though not much is known about it, fans are already looking forward to Rainbow 6: Patriots, the next instalment in the much loved Rainbow Six series. We’ve seen glimpses of the game here and there but its fate is still very much up in the air. Today though, we get some encouraging news from Ubisoft, who say that the game is still being worked on.
“The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it’s really looking good,” Ubisoft chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot told Polygon. “So when it will come, it will surprise the industry.”
Guillemot then went onto say that the title may not arrive until we see the XBOX 720 and the Playstation 4. When asked if Rainbow 6: Patriots could be a next gen title, Guillemot said “there’s a good chance it can be.”
Although we still don’t have much to go on, at least we have confirmation that the project is still alive and kicking. I’ve always been a fan of the series, and I particularly loved when they took the games to Vegas for the past two instalments. I poured a ton of hours into both Rainbow Six: Vegas and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and I’ve been waiting for another console version of Rainbow Six for a while now, so any news surrounding Patriots excites me.
Rainbow 6: Patriots will take place in New York, and has the team dealing with a terrorist group calling itself the ‘True Patriots’ who have “taken it upon themselves to act as judge, jury and executioner on behalf of the victims of economic inequality.” Sounds pretty interesting, right?
What do you think? Are you excited for Rainbow Six: Patriots?
