Just in case you thought the marketing of MGS V: The Phantom Pain and its standalone prologue could not possibly get any more convoluted, Konami has now confirmed that the physical retail copies of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will come with “additional bonuses” that are not included in the digital release of the game.

Konami revealed the existence of the mysterious Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes “bonuses” to VideoGamer.com, via the following Twitter exchange:

For those keeping score, this means that the four different versions of the prologue will each have their own pricing model and exclusive content when the game launches on March 18, 2014.

On the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will cost $29.99 at retail and $19.99 via digital download. The current-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions run $39.99 for the retail version and $29.99 for the digital release. Those picking up the game on Sony’s PlayStation platforms will get an exclusive PS1-era Déjà Vu Mission, while Xbox players can take part in the exclusive “Jamais Vu” mission starring Raiden. From there, the physical retail versions of the game will contain some amount of “bonus” content that may, or may not, be the same across all platforms. Additionally, there is a good chance that this extra content will vary depending on where you buy the game.

Everyone got all that?
