Retro City Rampage Will Finally Hit XBLA This Wednesday

I can’t think of another game that has had more release window issues than Retro City Rampage has since its initial announcement. Originally slated for WiiWare as well as some “undisclosed consoles”, the XBLA version was announced shortly after and was set to be the first version available. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, the PC/PS Vita and PS3 versions were released before any of the others. If nothing else, it’s been interesting to watch.

Well, WiiWare gamers will still have to wait a bit longer as the game is set to release sometime in January, those of you comfortable with your 360 will be able to enjoy the rush of nostalgia when the 8-bit open world game is finally released this Wednesday, January 2nd. As a reward for your patience, you’ll be gifted all of the patches available for the PSN and PC versions of the game.

There’s really nothing else like Retro City Rampage on the market, and while I’m still not 100% sure if that’s a good or bad thing, it’s definitely worth at least checking out the demo as a way to start off the new year.
