As originally announced back in July, EA and Bioware’s MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic has officially started offering a free-to-play subscription model for those not interested in shelling out the cash for a subscription fee.

Those who choose to play for free will be able to play their character’s full story and level all the way up to the current cap of Level 50 at no cost, but various other features will be locked away or limited unless they’re willing to pay some microtransactions or the traditional subscription fee for them. A full list of feature comparisons can be found at the game’s official website.

Additionally, the game got updated to version 1.5 today, including new environments on the planet Belsavis as well as the ability to add the fan-favorite droid companion HK-51 from Knights of the Old Republic to your list of allies.
