Masahiro Sakurai still seems to be the lead developer, but producer Kobayashi and Yoshito Higuchi, the director of the Tales series, are also contributing.

This shouldn’t cause too much alarm. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was co-developed by Monolith Soft (Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenosaga), Paon (DK King of Swing,) and Game Arts (Grandia series, Lunar series).
