The latest entry in Bandai Namco’s popular Tales of series – Tales of Berseria – has been available in Japan for a good few months, but the publisher has been rather quiet in regards to a Western release. Until now, anyway.
Revealing the good news over on Sony’s PlayStation Blog, the post has pegged Berseria’s Western release as January 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4, meaning you’ve got just over three months to wait until you can play “what many people playing the Japanese version are calling one of the best Tales of games ever.”
Coinciding with the release date confirmation, Bandai Namco has unveiled a $149.99 collector’s edition for Tales of Berseria, which comes packed with all sorts of miscellany.
Besides an exclusive SteelBook case for the game disc, those that pick up the special edition will find Chibi Kyun Chara figures for main characters Velvet and Laphicet inside, as well as an exclusive 8-bit retro keychain set, a CD containing a selection of music from the game, a hardcover prequel novel and a strategy guide with a set of trading cards.
That’s an insane amount of stuff, but for $150, you’d expect as much. If all of the above sounds like something you can’t live without, you’ll want to get your pre-order in quick – only 10,000 units of the collector’s edition are available.
