Telltale Games has lifted the curtain on the launch trailer for its upcoming episodic series, Tales from the Borderlands.
Arriving today on Xbox One — the maiden episode was available yesterday on PC and PlayStation platforms — the studio’s adaptation once again roots the action in a Pandora setting, as players step into the shoes of a Hyperion company man known as Rhys (voiced here by The Last of Us star Troy Baker) and Pandorian con artist Fiona.
Blending the beloved tone of Gearbox Software’s franchise with Telltale’s penchant for storytelling, Tales from the Borderlands will span across five episodes in total, with Zer0 Sum being the first. Much like the studio’s previous episodic franchises, we understand that players will have the option to buy each installment individually for $4.99 or, alternatively, buy the game’s season pass.
Just yesterday, Telltale Games published a brief synopsis of the upcoming space-faring adventure to coincide with the launch trailer, and you can feast your eyes on that below.
“Thrown together as unwilling partners in an adventure to recover cash they both think is theirs, their journey will take you on a wild ride where gangsters, bandit lords, and Vault Hunters are just some of the obstacles you’ll encounter.”
The first episode of Tales from the Borderlands is available now across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PC, and we understand that the game will make its bow on Xbox 360 on December 3 — the same date it debuts in Europe. In fact, the trailer notes that there are more platforms to be announced for the galactic series, so we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
