Following up on the announcement from earlier this week, Techland has detailed when budding zombie-hunters can expect the arrival of the physical versions of Dying Light in Europe and other PAL regions.
Though the parkour-infused title will be available digitally on January 28 — when it releases across both platforms in North America — the studio has confirmed that the game will be made available in boxed form for Europe, Australia et al. on February 27, almost one month after the initial release.
To compensate fans in these territories, Techland revealed that theĀ Cuisine & Cargo plus Ultimate Survival Bundle add-ons will be included free of charge, while the supplementary “Be the Zombie” DLC will be included in all copies of Dying Light regardless of territory. And though fans were left understandably disappointed by the delay, with the studio naturally prioritizing the game’s North American release, Techland was quick to remind fans that such a decision ultimately falls to the publisher — Warner Bros. Interactive, in this instance.
“We would like to remind fans and media that Techland is responsible for developing and creating Dying Light,” Techland stressed in a statement provided to Eurogamer.
“The publishing and distribution of the game is not handled by us. Once we at Techland know more about how the release of the game will be coordinated, we will immediately inform everyone.”
Whether you’ve been affected by this postponement or not, to satisfy your appetite for Techland’s zombie-slaying title, be sure to check out the game’s most recent trailer, which went live yesterday.
Dying Light will scramble onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in North America on January 28, where it will also be available digitally in Europe and other PAL regions.
