Capcom has already surprised us once this year by announcing timed Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 4, but it appears as if the publisher and developer could have another zombie themed treat hidden up its sleeve. A trophy list for the original game in the series released in 2006 has appeared on tracker website Exophase, suggesting that some sort of remaster is in the works.
Capcom has yet to confirm the existence of any such thing, but we’d be surprised if the leak is proven false, a remaster of Frank West’s first encounter with the undead horde would be a great way to drum up hype for Dead Rising 4, even if it isn’t seeing a release on PlayStation 4 until a later date. Interestingly, the original version never saw a release on the PlayStation 3, so this would be the first chance non-Xbox owners would have of seeing where it all started.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for any comment by Capcom in regards to the potential remaster and be sure to keep you posted. As for Dead Rising 4, it releases for Xbox One later this year, and sees Frank West return to the Willamette Mall during the Christmas season amidst another outbreak. The guy just can’t catch a break, eh?
