E3 Day Zero is officially behind us, and now that we’ve had some time to reflect on both Bethesda and EA’s respective press conferences – spoilers: the latter left much to be desired – it’s almost time for E3 2016 to get going in earnest when Microsoft’s presser kicks off in little under an hour’s time.
Despite shifting gears from console exclusive to multi-platform title, it’s all but confirmed that Titanfall 2 will be making an appearance at the event in some capacity, building off the single-player and multiplayer teasers that were rolled out just yesterday.
Looking further afield, though, Respawn’s Head of Development David Wightman revealed that, come October, all downloadable content for Titanfall 2 will be released free of charge.
“We’ll definitely be supporting Titanfall 2 post-launch, and I can confirm all maps and modes we deliver post-launch will be free. We’ll be talking more about post-launch plans closer to release so stay tuned for more info.”
Whether that paves the way for in-game micro-transactions – say, custom skins for your Titan or Pilot – remains to be seen, but the fact that post-launch multiplayer maps will be rolled out at no extra cost is certainly welcome news.
Titanfall 2 will deploy for battle across PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 28.
