Traveller’s Tales: Ubisoft Publish Second Behind The Scenes Video Of Far Cry 4

Packing for a vacation is a universal nightmare we can all relate to: tedious packing, last-minute stress and lists upon lists of items that we don’t really need. So, with Far Cry 4 and a far-flung expedition to Nepal on the cards this November, Ubisoft has published the second of three short videos that showcases the studio's journey to Asia and, subsequently, the inspiration behind the fictional setting of Kyrat.

Packing for a vacation is a universal nightmare we can all relate to: tedious packing, last-minute stress and lists upon lists of items that we don’t really need. So, with Far Cry 4 and a far-flung expedition to Nepal on the cards this November, Ubisoft has published the second of three short videos that showcases the studio’s journey to Asia and, subsequently, the inspiration behind the game’s fictional setting of Kyrat.

Following up on the maiden video, the company’s brief documentary charts the creative team’s journey through the Himalyan country to gain an understanding of the country’s deeply Asian culture. Some of the landmarks that can be glimpsed in the footage include the Tal Bahari temple along with the unforgiving jungle environments that will undoubtedly weave their way into the game itself.

Far Cry 4 will drop players in the shoes of one Ajay Ghale, a Kyrat native who returns to his native region only to discover that Pagan Min — the narcissistic, self-obsessed villain that can be seen on the cover of the game — has appointed himself as king of the location and is now terrorising Ghale’s home community.

In terms of gameplay, it’s also understood that Far Cry 4 will feature a drop-in/drop-out co-op mode that Ubisoft have billed as a seamless experience that won’t interfere with a player’s individual session. Of course, whether this is as seamless an experience as, say, Destiny, remains to be seen.

Far Cry 4 is set to launch across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 18th in North America and November 21st in Europe. Until then, you can sate your appetite for the studio’s open-world sequel with our hands-on impressions from E3.
