Ubisoft announced this morning that they have delayed the launch of Rayman Legends until sometime in the first quarter of 2013, potentially putting the game’s release at the tail end of Nintendo’s Wii U launch window.
The company confirmed the disappointing news in a statement to VideoGamer, saying:
“Rayman Legends will launch worldwide in the first quarter of 2013. We’re happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations. We’ll have more details to share soon.”
Rayman Legends was originally speculated to be released on November 30th alongside the Wii U’s launch in Europe. That date had never been confirmed by Nintendo of America, which listed the title for release during their launch window (November 18, 2012 – March 31, 2013).
Ubisoft added that none of their other Wii U titles (ZombiU, Assassin’s Cree III, and Just Dance 4) have been delayed, and are all on track to launch with the upcoming console.
We will let you know as soon as more information about Rayman Legends is announced.
