When it comes to addressing the multitude of bugs within Assassin’s Creed: Unity, there’s no denying that Ubisoft means business. It’s now two days since the anticipated Parisian sequel arrived in North America and users are still running into a hoard of issues that are as jarring (see above) as they are disconcerting. So, in an effort to purge the technical problems, the publisher has set up a live blog that charts the progress of the fixes as they are implemented within the game.
Those who have been affected by the bugs can head on over to the dedicated site, where Ubisoft outlined the following plan of attack.
“We are already looking into many of the other issues you’ve told us about and we have more updates planned,” the publisher wrote. “This list doesn’t capture everything, but here are the most widely-reported problems we’ve heard about from you:
Frame rate issues
Graphical and collision issues
Matchmaking co-op issues
Helix Credits issues“We will be providing additional details in the coming days, so check back for updates.”
We encountered similar issues in our review of Assassin’s Creed: Unity, stating that while Ubisoft’s Parisian adventure is a joy to behold and renders the French Revolution wonderfully, those aforementioned technical issues cast a dark shadow over the title.
The Assassin’s Creed series’ first ‘next-gen’ only iteration should have launched to much fanfare. However, although Assassin’s Creed Unity is a really good game, the coding behind it isn’t up to par. The result is an enjoyable experience that is marred by unfortunate technical issues.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity is available now in North America, with the UK version due to arrive on Friday, November 14th. Ubisoft has reassured fans that it plans to provide updates throughout the rest of the week, so stay tuned to the publisher’s live blog.
