Uncharted 4 Single-Player DLC Will Reportedly Revolve Around Sam, Reveal Expected Next Month

In a similar fashion to the Left Behind add-on, a new report suggests that Uncharted 4's single-player DLC will center on Sam.

Developer Naughty Dog has remained tight-lipped on the Uncharted 4 single-player DLC since launch, but that could all be about to change in the coming weeks, if a new report from website Jaffameister is to be believed.

Citing sources close to Sony, the outlet claims Naughty Dog has mapped out plans to showcase the story-driven expansion at PlayStation Experience early next month, where those in attendance will be able to go hands-on, presumably ahead of the DLC’s launch in 2017. Fair warning, if you’re yet to play through and complete Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the remainder of Jaffameister’s post delves into spoiler territory.

Still with us? If that report holds true, Uncharted 4‘s single-player expansion will chronicle the adventures of Sam and Sully, with Nathan Drake holding a smaller role in this self-contained story. Drake’s daughter, Cassie, reportedly won’t feature in the add-on, while users can expect it to be a little longer than The Last of Us: Left Behind.

Adding weight to Jaffameister’s findings, Laura Kate Dale took to Twitter to weigh in on the speculation: “For those asking about the Uncharted 4 DLC leak I have incoming, I’ve actually helped someone else put it together.” Dale later added a second Tweet: “I have a decent amount of faith in that Uncharted 4 Story DLC post, lines up with more info I’ve heard recently.”

It’s by no means a firm confirmation, particularly when you consider that industry sleuth shinobi602 cooled rumors via NeoGAF: “This is incorrect from what I’m told. (That it’s Sam focused).” One way or the other, we’ll inform you if and when Naughty Dog formally reveal that expansion in question.

PlayStation Experience 2016 takes place over the weekend of December 3. Before that, all eyes in the industry will be drawn to The Game Awards 2016, where Uncharted 4 will be competing in numerous categories, including the coveted Game of the Year accolade.
