Stumped on what to ask for this holiday season? Well let your friends at We Got This Covered take care of that with a few recommendations for the PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. So this holiday season, get the best game and spend Christmas day in the warmth of a good video game.
God of War 3
With an early release of March, I still cannot get away from the God of War series since it manages to be both engrossing and violent at the same time. The continuing adventures of Kratos are not to be missed, and if you’re one of the unlucky ones to have not already played this game, this should definitely be on your list as a Christmas present.
Mass Effect 2
My personal nomination for Game of the Year, Mass Effect manages to be one of the most refreshing franchises in recent years and ME2 is a force to be reckoned with. With a deep story and a variety of combat types, Mass Effect 2 is an essential for RPG gamers everywhere. Plus, since the game had been out for almost a full year already, the price of this game is ripe for the taking.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
For fans of the comic and movie, Scott Pilgrim, his girlfriend Ramona Flowers and his band mates Kim Pine and Stephen Stills of Sex Bob-omb, this 2-D side scroller is a multiplayer’s dream. And for the reasonable price of about $10, this game is a deal and a half for so much brawling goodness.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
A summer game should brighten up any Nintendo owners’ Christmas this year, with Super Mario Galaxy 2 being referred to as one of the best platforming games of all time. The plumber sure hasn’t lost its touch and Wii owners should definitely check this game out and hope it can be found under their tree on December 25th.
Heavy Rain
One of the most innovative games in recent years revolves around a noir setting and a cast of complex characters. If dramatic thrillers are your cup of tea, then this game delivers like no other. Heavy Rain is the one true “must own” game for the Playstation 3.
