A trailer for the next episode in Telltale Games’ third season of The Walking Dead series was released over the weekend during PAX East, providing a brief glimpse of the dire situations that new protagonist Javier will find himself in while attempting to survive in the zombie-infested post-apocalypse. Above the Law, as it’s so called, is scheduled to release March 28 for the usual platforms, following on from the two-part season opener Ties That Bind Part 1 and Part 2.
Besides revealing some fresh new faces, Telltale’s teaser for Above the Law also confirms the return of Clementine, the young protagonist that fans of the story-focused series have come to care for immensely, following the godawful events she’s had to endure over the course of the last two seasons. As previously detailed by the developer, Clem and Javier’s fates are “bound together” in Season Three, although in what way remains to be seen. By the looks of it, Above the Law will finally provide answers to some of those burning questions, but don’t expect Telltale to reveal its entire hand just yet – there are more episodes to come throughout 2017.
For new and returning players alike, if you’ve yet to give Season Three a look, find the cryptic premise below, courtesy of Telltale.
When family is all you have left… how far will you go to protect it? Years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. But at what cost? Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to protect his family, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last.
