After last Thursday’s press conference we knew that there would be at least 50 games released during the Wii U launch window, however, we didn’t know which of these games would be available when the system arrives on November 18th. According to a recent update on Nintendo’s official site though, there will be 20 titles for the Wii U on day one.
My first reaction is that it is certainly a healthy list, far more so than what the 3DS had last year. Most of the big exclusives are there, such as ZombiU, New Super Mario Bros. U and Rayman Legends.
A lot of the high-profile Wii U ports are there as well, including Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition and Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two. It’s also nice to see that Assassin’s Creed III and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 will make it shortly after their launch dates.
Whether or not these third-party games will be successful on Nintendo’s new home console is unknown, but if they are, expect to see more Wii U multi-platform support from developers than there was for the Wii.
The number of high-quality titles available at launch is enough for me to be sold on a Wii U. You can make up your own decision by looking at the full list below:
