Ubisoft has promised a lot of pretty enticing features for its upcoming sequel, Far Cry 4. There’s the alluringly beautiful setting of The Himalayans coupled with Troy Baker’s self-proclaimed king, Pagan Min. But above all else, the feature that has caught the most attention is Kyrat’s wonderfully diverse wildlife and, in particular, its elephants.
Part weapon, part vehicle, the not-so-gentle giants are featured front and center in the latest trailer for the open-world title, which showcases the elephants in their natural habitat.
Weighing in at seven tonnes and having the ability to run at twenty miles-per-hour, the elephant’s might can’t be understated. And it seems as though Ubisoft have integrated the mammal in such a way that allows them to have a dramatic affect on in-game proceedings. So, whether it’s charging an outpost whilst on the back of an elephant or holding back while a herd of the beasts tear through some enemy-controlled barriers, it’s clear that the animal will have a relatively large impact on gameplay.
The trailer also details the pre-order bonus for Far Cry 4, which will grant access to three additionally story missions along with an exclusive in-game armament aptly called the Harpoon Gun. But let’s face it, this clip is all about the elephants.
Far Cry 4 will launch across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on November 18th, 2014.
