Even though the biggest sale day of the year has already come and gone, it looks like Microsoft will continue to roll out new deals for the rest of the 2013, as head spokesman Major Nelson has revealed that the company’s Countdown To 2014 sale will start today, December 17th.
As per usual with the countdown sale, every day will play host to a new series of fresh deals on hit Xbox 360 titles. Kicking off the sale will be a special on all things Borderlands 2. The main game itself will be marked down 75% to $7.49, with the Psycho Pack, Vault Hunter Upgrade 2, and Headhunter 1 Bloody Harvest DLC content slashed 50% each and the Season Pass cut 33% to $20.09.
Although each day’s sales typically aren’t revealed until the day of, Major Nelson let it slip that Xbox Live Arcade title Terraria will be part of Wednesday’s sales and will have a 67% discount.
In addition to the daily deals, Microsoft has also slashed the prices on a variety of Games on Demand, Xbox Live Arcade titles, and DLC. These sales start on Tuesday and will go until December 23rd. While the full list can be seen on Major Nelson’s blog post, some of the titles on sale include FIFA 14, BioShock Infinite, Spider-Man: Edge Of Time, Deadpool, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, and Fruit Ninja Kinect.
Between some of the deals offered here and the typical Steam sales, this time of the year really does a number on my wallet. Of what’s being offered so far, I definitely recommend picking up Borderlands 2 and BioShock Infinite, which were two of the best titles of 2012 and 2013, respectively. Personally, I’m going to be going after the various Marvel titles and perhaps get in on some Terraria action tomorrow.
