Microsoft revealed today that there will be at least 15 exclusive games coming to the Xbox One during the system’s first year. Eight of them will be new franchises while the remaining titles will be coming from franchises that we’ve already seen. No details were given on which titles we’ll be seeing but we should make it clear that these 15 games will be coming from Microsoft Studios, so there may be more exclusives coming from third-party publishers.
One thing that many gamers have criticized Microsoft for is the lack of exclusives on their consoles. Sure, there’s Gears, Fable, Forza and a few others, but the console is definitely lacking. So to see Microsoft stepping up and announcing 15 exclusives in the first year is something that should have many people very pleased.
“Microsoft has more titles in development now than at any time in Xbox’s history,” said Spencer, before going on to promise 15 exclusive games in the first year of Xbox One, “eight of which are brand new franchises.”
There’s not much more to go on right now but it seems like Microsoft certainly has some very exciting things in store for the Xbox One. I’m guessing that a lot will be revealed in the coming weeks and at E3 so stay tuned for more info.
