Joining hit Nintendo 3DS titles such as Animal Crossing: New Leaf and The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Yoshi’s New Island will receive a limited edition 3DS XL bundle of its own, according to IGN.
Sporing a green Yoshi-themed pattern, the bundle was first leaked through UK online retailer Base, but has since been confirmed. The limited edition console will come pre-installed with Yoshi’s New Island and carry a cost of £199.99 in Europe, which will probably be similar to what the console will cost in North America.
As the sequel to the Super Nintendo classic Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Yoshi’s New Island once again tasks the titular green dinosaur with protecting Baby Mario. It will also retain the same colorful look and egg-throwing mayhem that made the original such a beloved hit.
While I’m still not entirely sold on the game just yet, I always appreciate a good limited edition console. I already own the gorgeous Zelda-themed one, but if you don’t yet have a Nintendo 3DS it may be a good idea to pick this bundle up. The system is only gaining more and more steam and if Yoshi’s New Island is as good as its Super Nintendo predecessor, then it will be just another feather in the system’s cap.
Yoshi’s New Island will be launching on March 14 in both North America and Europe. Is anyone interested in experiencing Yoshi’s latest adventure on a Yoshi-themed console? Let us know in the comments section below.
