While Nintendo’s executives were busy getting remade in felt and feathers for this morning’s online presser, Mario’s trusty dino-steed Yoshi got another chance to showoff a crafty new look.
Yoshi’s Woolly World received a new trailer during the show, which featured Nintendo development coordinator Emi Watanabe talking about the inspiration and goals for the coming Wii U platformer.
[zerggaming]Having worked on Kirby’s Epic Yan, Watanabe is no stranger to fabric-based Nintendo characters. Newly unveiled Amiibo support will let you style your Yoshi after familiar faces like Mario and Samus, and the game’s co-op mode means you won’t have to enjoy Woolly World’s charming visuals alone. Watanabe goes on to stress the game’s flexible difficulty curve, which will feature plenty of collectibles for purists, and an approachable level design for those who just want to see all the imaginative designs.
