10 Actors Who Could Play Cable In The Deadpool Sequel

Those involved with the Deadpool movie have been teasing an appearance from Cable for a while now, but the Merc with a Mouth himself confirmed that the fan-favourite character will be making an appearance in the sequel during his after-credits scene (where he also hilariously mentioned Dolph Lundgren and Keira Knightley as possible candidates to play the role).

Deadpool has an undeniably great cast, but drafting in a big name actor for the sequel would be no bad thing. In that respect, Russell Crowe would be perfect, especially as he’s unlikely to be needed back as Jor-El in the DC Films Universe any time soon.

If Crowe was open to starring in the CGI heavy Man of Steel, a more practical action role like this would surely appeal to him, and getting to see the actor take on such a different type of character as the rough around the edges and battle scarred Cable has a ton of potential.

Bringing some much needed weight to the role, Crowe would be an unexpected co-star for Reynolds, but that’s exactly what makes this idea so exciting.
