Despite the fact that his X-Men movies are widely praised by fans, one of the biggest criticisms levelled at Bryan Singer is the fact that he doesn’t adhere to the comic books. Well, based on what we see here, he’s definitely embracing those for the way the mutants in X-Men: Apocalypse are being portrayed.
[zergpaid]Whether it’s the way Cyclops’ optic blasts tear from his eyes or Angel shooting blades from his metal wings, this looks like the most comic book-y of these movies to date, and the way Storm lands on the ground in a bolt of lightning is particularly cool. It may have taken a while, but the director finally turning to the source material for inspiration is nice to see.
