4) The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere Clip
All summer long fans have been busy theorizing just who Negan could have killed in the final moments of The Walking Dead‘s sixth season finale. Now, the wait is almost over and we’ll find out the answer when the show returns on October 23rd. Ahead of that, however, The Walking Dead panel at NYCC revealed an exclusive clip from the seventh season premiere that helps us narrow down who Negan’s unfortunate victim could be.
In the clip, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) taunts a freshly grieving Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) about his loss, asking him if he’s just killed his “right-hand man.” The clip ends with Negan dragging Rick into his trailer, presumably for some gruesome punishment.
Firstly, we now know for certain that Rick is not the victim, and Negan’s taunts suggests the victim’s a male. There are several characters who could be described as Rick’s right-hand man, but the pervading theory is that it’s Glenn. Meanwhile, the ending suggests that another big moment from the comic series will be adapted; in the source material, The Governor chops off Rick’s hand, but many are thinking that Negan will do the honours in the TV show.
