7) Scarlet Witch
Wanda Maximoff is another character who derives her power from the Mind Stone, so it’s possible that she’s also in danger of being snuffed out by Thanos. The film could do an interesting fake-out, where Thanos doesn’t go for Vision but instead draws the power out of Wanda to create a new Mind Stone, killing her in the process.
The darker, uncontrollable side to Wanda’s power was introduced in Captain America: Civil War, teasing her Dark Phoenix-esque turn in the comics. However, it could transpire that Scarlet Witch uses her powers for good and destroys Thanos at the end of the movie – and herself to boot.
Then again, maybe she’ll survive? It would be an unlikely move if Marvel killed off both of the Maximoff twins – after Quicksilver died in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Especially considering that Wanda is one of the few female Avengers.
6) Hawkeye
If the Russo brothers are going to go to the trouble of killing off one of the Avengers, wouldn’t it be better – in a sadistic kind of a way – to pick off one of the original six, one of those that we’ve got to know the best over the years? Yes, we’re suggesting that Hawkeye could be in the line of fire.
You could already argue that he’s the most disposable of the original bunch – he’s made the least appearances, after all – but his death would still pack a hefty punch. Especially given the fact that he’s the only Avenger to have a family waiting for him back home. Interestingly, Jeremy Renner’s contract only has one more movie left to go, so it looks likely, then, that he could die in the event’s first part.
Clint Barton has previously joked that he fights the likes of alien invaders and evil robots with only a bow and arrow – what if his luck’s finally about to run out when he comes up against his most powerful opponent in Thanos?
