10 Awesome Easter Eggs You May Have Missed In Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 is finally here and, as you might expect, it's bulging with easter eggs. Of course, most superhero movies feature a whole lot of easter eggs and references to the comic books they're based on and maybe other films in the same franchise, so this might not sound like anything too surprising. Deadpool 2, however, is on a completely different level.

The post-credits scenes of Deadpool 2 feature some of the best surprises and laugh-out-loud moments in the movie, as Ryan Reynolds gets to poke fun at his own past failures – and even sneaks in a cameo from Hugh Jackman! Sort of…

After using Cable’s repaired time spinner to go back in time and save Vanessa and Peter, he goes back even further and travels to the notorious final act of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and shoots the terrible alternate version of Deadpool from that movie – you know, the one with his mouth sewn shut – in the head. He even gets to interact with Wolverine a little via archival footage, apologizing from screwing with the timelines. It’s not quite the proper Wolverine/Deadpool crossover we’re after, but it’s still hilarious nonetheless.

The Merc then barrels through the fourth wall and encounters actor Ryan Reynolds as he sits down to read the script for DC’s Green Lantern. Before he gets the chance to accept the movie, the Merc shoots him in the head, too. Good luck topping that, Deadpool 3!
