Deadpool's journey to the big screen has been fascinating to watch, and while the leaked screenplay didn't get it the green light, the overwhelmingly positive response to the leaked footage which followed most certainly did. However, it was always hard to believe that the movie was really happening, and Fox's track record made it even harder to be sure that it would actually be any good.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Deadpool‘s after-credits scene, but the movie ended up handling this particular superhero film trope in a fourth wall breaking hilarious way.

Featuring the Merc with a Mouth berating the audience for still being in the theater instead of just going home, the character goes on to ask if everyone was expecting an eye patch wearing Samuel L. Jackson to show his face.

While some fanboys will be needlessly offended by Deadpool‘s decision to poke fun at Marvel Studios, handling the after-credits scene like this was a genius decision and perfectly suits the tone of this particular movie.
