The initial line up for the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, or TIFF 2013 as it’s more commonly known, has been revealed today. The list of films isn’t terribly surprising but it’s still quite impressive. Some of the year’s most-anticipated titles will be making an appearance at the festival and it looks like we’re in for quite a treat come September.
The biggest surprise is Steve McQueen’s highly anticipated 12 Years a Slave, which will be skipping Venice and instead will have its world premiere at TIFF. Other notable films include The Fifth Estate, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and tells the story of Julian Assange, Jason Reitman’s Labor Day with Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet, Prisoners with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, Atom Egoyan’s West Memphis Three film Devil’s Knot, Paul Haggis’ Third Person with Liam Neeson and the list goes on.
There are truly so many great films coming to TIFF 2013 and I cannot wait for it to start up. We Got This Covered will be in attendance at the festival so expect reviews, interviews and more on all of these great films come September.
