6 Genuinely Terrifying Disney Villains

Disney does not f*ck around when it comes to its villains. They want the bad guys to look, act, and be evil. They want to send the kids home clearly knowing that the good guys wore white and the bad guys wore black.

Usually, once a list, I like to imagine a pitch meeting. In this list’s pitch meeting moment, I will recreate how I imagine the selling of this character went like:

“Um, isn’t his subtext a little TOO rape-y for a kid’s movie? I mean, I know we are Disney and can do what we want, but do we want to go THERE?! How the hell are we gonna make this okay, guys?

New guy raises hand and says, “we could have him sing a song?”

“GREAT CALL, make sure it’s only KIND OF about rape though!”

And then they came up with “Hellfire,” one of the creepiest Disney songs sung by one of the creepiest Disney villains about one of the creepiest things ever sung about in a kid’s movie: lust. On top of that, we all know Salma Hayek was the voice behind Esmerelda, so we understood the burning in this evil man’s animated loins. That kind of made it even worse.

Seriously, this dude beat out Maleficent and the old witch from Snow White. Why? Because they didn’t sing about wanting to rape anyone. That just takes a very special level of depravity. Seems a move that would make even Uwe Boll shudder, and that is really saying something.
