8 Alternate Versions Of Spider-Man We Need To See On The Big Screen

Last year, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures made history when they reached a deal which will see Spider-Man become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Tom Holland, the new Peter Parker will first show up in Captain America: Civil War before starring in a solo outing next year from director Jon Watts. As of right now, we still haven't seen so much as a single official image of the new Spider-Man, but the future still looks bright for the iconic superhero.

Spider-Girl

While many fans would love to see Spider-Woman on the big screen, it’s important to note that Jessica Drew actually has nothing to do with Spider-Man. She’s an entirely separate character with totally different powers and an admittedly similar name.

Marvel will no doubt get around to introducing her at some point, but it’s Spider-Girl who has the potential to carry her own movie. There have been multiple versions over the years, but the one I’m talking about here is Peter Parker’s daughter Mayday, from an alternate timeline.

In that world, Spider-Man lost a leg during a battle with the Green Goblin, so retired to bring up May with his wife Mary Jane. When she reached her teens, the youngster started developing powers of her own and soon donned a costume to follow in her father’s footsteps, coming across some great villains and the descendants or older versions of many familiar Marvel heroes in the process.
