No Good Deed
If you watched Logan at the theater earlier this year, you undoubtedly caught a glimpse of No Good Deed, the short film that serves as a teaser for Deadpool 2. Directed by David Leitch, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and starring Ryan Reynolds, this clip showed us that the future of the Merc with a Mouth will be similar in tone and style as before.
If truth be told, the humor was more over the top and outrageous, as was the breaking of the fourth wall with the lovely homage to John Williams’ iconic Superman score while Wade changed into his crime-fighting outfit in the phone booth. There are even those who might say this teaser had more entertainment in it than the entirety of James Mangold’s glum Wolvie affair.
Look, it’s impossible to say whether Deadpool 2 will be as good as No Good Deed, but judging by what we saw, it certainly appears to be on the right track and in the right hands. And something also tells us that this will be the first of many original teasers to be released in the forthcoming months.
