A new poster for ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ instantly sends everyone’s minds straight to the gutter

It could have been intentional, but for some reason it seems it might have just been an oversight.

After its release on June 2, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been tearing it up at the box office, as well as with critics. The promotional efforts have been stellar, but a recent poster has given fans a hilarious reason to pause and crack a buttload of jokes.

It’s been five years since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse fans a whole new dimension of entertainment to enjoy. Stan Lee was still alive, and flashing back to that means something special. However, Spider-Man has moved on quite spectacularly with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, as a 9/10 IMDb rating and a 96 percent Rotten Tomatoes score can testify. Gwen and Miles have reunited, and the entire Spider-Man fan club has so much more to talk about now.

As if that wasn’t enough, there is a new one-sheet that has folks shaking their heads. It might be a poster for China because the writing appears to be in Hanzi, but that’s not the focus of all the fun. It’s the art on the poster that has so many comments coming from everyone’s dirty minds. Of course, the artist could have been thinking of something else when they were creating it, and that fact has been pointed out. However, most people see the same thing, which in the most gracious terms would be that it appears to be a string of Ben Wa balls.

Once they see it, they can’t unsee it…

It wouldn’t dare be what everyone’s thinking and very well could be a common food that is served on the streets in China known as tanghulu, a treat with several fruits placed in line on a skewer.

It could also be dango, which is a food made of rice balls that are shoved on a skewer.

Who cares what it really is? These comments are hilarious…

Whatever the art was intended to be, the Spider-Verse is having fun with it letting their brains wander right into the gutter.
