Who doesn’t love Aaron Sorkin these days?
He’s been responsible for several scripts critics can’t stop talking about (The Social Network, Moneyball) and his involvement in a project, practically guarantees Oscar buzz.
That being said, it’s no surprise that Sony wants Sorkin to adapt Walter Isaacson’s biography on Steve Jobs, Apple’s recently deceased founder, for the screen.
No word from Sorkin yet on whether he’ll take on the project, but he might have a major roadblock to overcome. According to The Film Stage, Jobs and Sorkin were friendly with each other – Jobs even asked him to write a Pixar movie. Since Isaacson’s book doesn’t always portray Jobs as the white knight of the computer industry, Sorkin might turn the project down.
Still, Sorkin seems to have a soft spot for innovators, which is why I’m hoping he’ll write this screenplay. There’s no doubt it’d be a great film.
What do you guys think? Do you want Sorkin to write the biopic? Let us know.
