A new trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter appeared online yesterday and it showcases plenty of director Timur Bekmambetov’s signature action style as well as some narration by Abe himself, explaining his story.
The stylishly shot visuals look like they will entertain and Bekmambetov is known for his “holy crap” action (see Wanted), so on that count, I think this one will be a ton of fun to watch. It will also be interesting to see a different side of the famous American president, a side that the film seems to take pretty seriously, which may or may not work out well. Either way, I can’t see this one failing to entertain and having really enjoyed Wanted, I’m eager to see what Bekmambetov has cooked up with this supernatural horror flick.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk, Anthony Mackie, Rufus Sewell, Erin Wasson and Dominic Cooper. It will hit theatres on June 22nd.
The film explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.
