” I will hold you to that, Everett.”
On the heels of Tuesday’s raw, deeply emotional exchange between Okoye (Danai Gurira) and W’Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya), Marvel Studios has now summoned another Black Panther deleted scene. And this one puts the focus squarely on King T’Challa and Martin Freeman’s Agent Ross, who have a little run-in at the UN, right before the titular hero is about to reveal Wakanda to the world.
Ross tries to warn T’Challa that it may not be the best idea to go ahead with his plan. “Listen, it’s not my place to say — but man, I really don’t think you should do this. What you guys have is gonna scare a lot of people in that room. They’re gonna come after you,” says the CIA agent. “Yes. But I will no longer rule out of fear. Not ours or anyone else’s,” replies Chadwick Boseman’s fearless leader. It’s a brief exchange, but a welcome bit of footage nonetheless, especially the laughs that come from the end.
Pegged for a home video release on May 15th, the Black Panther Blu-ray is full of extras and special features, including a director’s intro from none other than Ryan Coogler himself. He’s said to be negotiating with Marvel Studios over the possibility of helming the all-but-inevitable Black Panther sequel, but it would seem Kevin Feige and Co. are willing to wait until such time as Coogler is ready to return at the helm.
Via Marvel, here’s what to expect from the Blu-ray.
