The quaint coastal town of Amnesty Bay plays host to The King of the Seven and his many allies in this latest batch of Aquaman set photos.
Production on James Wan’s grand 2018 adventure continues apace, and after taking a moment to cast the spotlight on Amber Heard’s Mera – for the record, the Queen of Atlantis’ lime-green attire was a far cry from the battle suit glimpsed in that action shot from Justice League – Gold Coast Bulletin (via CBM) has now relayed a fresh helping of set pictures that draw attention to both Amnesty Bay, a gang of bikers, and Jason Momoa’s towering stunt double.
Those familiar with the DC lore will know that Amnesty Bay serves as the home of Tom Curry, a local lighthouse keeper who adopts the would-be King of Atlantis from an early age. From that point on, and after being christened Arthur Curry, Aquaman is raised under the patchwork roof of the Curry Lighthouse, and considering that James Wan’s spinoff has been likened to an origin story, don’t be too surprised if the DC flick plays up the, ahem, fish out of water trope.

Perhaps most interesting of all is the fact that Gold Coast Bulletin’s report name-drops Temuera Morrison and newcomer Otis Dhanji, the latter of whom is expected to play the young Arthur Curry during the film’s flashback sequences. Exactly how those scenes will be woven into the plot is up for question, but it’s further confirmation that Aquaman has tapped an all-star ensemble cast to flesh out the lush world of Atlantis.
With Momoa, Heard, Morrison and the up-and-coming Otis Dhanji attached, there are also roles for Patrick Wilson (Orm), Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen as the villainous Black Manta.
Aquaman pulls into port on December 21st, 2018.
